Reviewer Info
The adults speaking to the teams at the Expo are called reviewers, not judges, for a reason. The teams are not compared to each other. Answering questions gives the students the opportunity to practice speaking to adults and presenting as a team. It is a good learning experience; that it all it is designed to be. Below is the reviewing sheet we will be using at our Expo to help facilitate a 15-20 minute conversation with a team. Notes are helpful so that we can provide leading details specific to each team during the awards ceremony. For example, "...this award goes to a creative team that built a special stage to solve the problem of..." The kids on that team will be thinking, "we looked at that problem... that might be us!!!" which builds their excitement. It also keeps the kids who haven't been called up yet listening for clues. Reviewers are essential in providing those types of details.
